Psychodrama Institute of South Florida - Experiential Training for Mental Health Professionals
Psychodrama Institute of South Florida Presents:
"Nobody Understands Me":
Working Experientially With Adolescents

Powerlessness, individuation, body issues, and sexuality are just a few of the issues adolescents bring into treatment. Often they are very guarded due to previous betrayals and/or lack of self esteem. Psychodrama teaches us that when a client presents something that looks like resistance, we must be our most spontaneous and creative selves in order to find the intervention that will warm the client up enough to  move forward. In this workshop we will you teach many creative ways to enter the adolescent's world.

Stories Our Bodies Hold;
Learning to Tune in to Somatic Process

The body contains a wealth of information at a cellular and muscular level. The more we key into our own body process the more available we are to somatic information from our clients. Designed to help clinicians let go of their habitual physical armor, this workshop will take participants through experiential exercises utilizing music, art and psychodrama.  The second half of the workshop will use exercises designed to teach participants how to tune into clients' body process. The afternoon will be spent applying these techniques to our clients.

Presents:
Off the Couch and On to Change
Psychodramatic Action with Individuals

We all know that feeling of being "stuck" in traditional talk therapy. This workshop will teach psychodrama methods to deepen and move the therapeutic process toward greater insight and behavior change.

Participants will learn how to use doubling, role reversal, empty chair and other action methods with individuals. Because psychodrama is holistic in nature, employing body, mind and spirit, there will also be a specific focus on how to tune into and utilize the client's somatic process.
