About Us
The Psychodrama Training Institute of South Florida was founded by Pamela Goffman and Paul Lesnik to meet the training needs of mental health professionals in the South Florida region; as well as nationally and internationally. Regionally they present Psychodrama workshops to such universities as Florida Atlantic University, Barry University and Florida International University. Some of the areas of focus of these workshops are "Introduction to Psychodrama Techniques", "Creating Safety in the treatment of Trauma with Psychodrama", and "Integrating the Expressive Arts with Social Work Practice". Additionally they train staff of some of Florida's Drug and Alcohol rehabilitation. Nationally, they are active presenters at conferences for mental health professionals.
Together Ms. Goffman and Mr. Lesnik have over 30 years of experience in the field of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. They each bring previous training and professional experience in other related expressive arts fields; these include Dance/Movement therapy, Sand Tray, Art therapy, Music therapy and Journaling. Integrating these modalities with Psychodrama enriches and enlivens the psychodrama experience while adding to the knowledge base of of their trainees.
Ms. Goffman and Mr. Lesnik have each been granted Certification as Practitioners of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy by the American Board of Examiners (ABE) in Psychodrama, Sociomerty and Group Psychotherapy. They are currently Practitioners Applying for Trainers (PAT) through the ABE and can grant Psychodrama certification hours for trainees'. The Psychodrama Institute of South Florida is also a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) provider for Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Mental Health Counselors. Both Mr. Lesnik and Ms. Goffman are qualified supervisors for any Social Workers or Mental Health Counselors seeking licenscure in the state of Florida.
